ZOOM Recording Studio is a practical, affordable recording studio in Los Angeles built for independent artists, vocalists, and producers who need professional results without premium pricing. We operate two rooms at 539 S Rampart Blvd in the Westlake neighborhood: ZOOM I (non-smoking) and ZOOM II (smoking-permitted). Both run the same signal chain, the same monitors, and the same acoustic treatment.

The studio is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. On-site parking is available for every client. Whether you are tracking vocals at 2 PM or running an overnight production session at midnight, the room is ready and the gear is set up.

ZOOM I is a non-smoking room that holds up to eight people. ZOOM II is a smoking-permitted room that also holds up to eight people, with a $10 per hour daytime surcharge ($4 per hour overnight) added to the base rate. That is the only difference between the two rooms. The microphones, monitors, interface, plugins, and acoustic treatment are identical.

Both rooms are suited to vocals, instrument tracking, production, podcasts, voiceover, and spoken-word projects. Engineers work out of either room interchangeably, so your session quality does not depend on which room you book.

Recording runs through a Neumann TLM 103 (large-diaphragm condenser, clean and detailed across the frequency range) and a Shure SM7B (dynamic, well-suited to rap, rock, and loud vocal styles). The interface is a Universal Audio Apollo 8/x8, with a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 available as a secondary unit.

Monitoring uses Yamaha NS10, Dynaudio LYD 8, and a KRK 10S subwoofer. Headphones are Audio-Technica ATH-M50x and Sony MDR-7506. DAWs include Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, and Ableton Live 10. Plugin suites cover Waves, Slate Digital, UAD, FabFilter Pro-Q 3, Antares Autotune, iZotope Ozone 9, iZotope Vocal Synth 2, and Synchro Arts VocAlign. A full inventory is on the gear list page.

ZOOM I starts at $39 per hour. Extended sessions (four or more hours Monday through Wednesday, six or more hours Thursday through Sunday) drop to $35 per hour. Night lockout sessions (midnight to 9 AM) are $16 per hour Monday through Wednesday and $19 per hour Thursday through Sunday.

ZOOM II starts at $49 per hour, with extended sessions at $45 per hour. Night lockout is $20 per hour Monday through Wednesday and $23 per hour Thursday through Sunday. The Advanced Engineer add-on is $30 per hour with a two-hour minimum.

Packages work across both rooms: Rising Star (16 hours, $499, effectively $31 per hour), VIP (30 hours, $879, effectively $29 per hour), and Icon (50 hours, $1,365, effectively $27 per hour). Full rate details are on the pricing page.

The studio is minutes from Hollywood via the 101, Downtown LA via the 110, and Koreatown via surface streets. On-site parking is available for all clients, which saves the time and cost of finding street parking or a garage in the neighborhood.
